TEXT

Have no anxiety about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. Finally, brethren, whatever is honorable, whatever is lovely, whatever is gracious, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.

In 2011, Nicholas was appointed to the post of Director of Chapel Music & Organist at St. Paul’s School, Concord, New Hampshire. In 2012 he became Chair of the Arts at the school. In 2013 he was appointed Music Director of The Boston Cecilia, one of America’s oldest and finest performing arts organizations.

Nicholas was born in London, England, and received his early musical training as a treble chorister. These include Washington National Cathedral, Washington, DC and St. Michael’s Church, New York City.

Both recordings are available on the MSR Classics label.

Dumbarton Concerts in Washington, DC commissioned White’s setting of Poe’s “The Raven” which was performed to great critical acclaim by The Raven Consort in 2013. REVIEW

“Unashamedly beautiful, Nicholas White’s choral music makes you think about the function of music and how a composer decides on the rightness of its design. White’s music never cloys. It is beautifully crafted, the manner of word-setting stemming very much from the English choral tradition… music that soothes more often than it challenges, while still stimulating the imagination as it nourishes the spirit.”
