This is a DVD of the Traditional Latin Mass (Low Mass of Trinity Sunday), as celebrated according to the 1962 Missale Romanum at St. John Cantius Church in Chicago.

Special Features of this DVD:

Features:

* Full-length instructional video of the Low Mass from the perspective of the Priest
* Full-length instructional video for the altar server
* Over 500 carefully taken photos in slide shows of every ceremony of the Latin Mass
* Stunning choral and organ music
* Video of sacristy preparation and vesting rite

This DVD of the Low Mass (Extraordinary Form) provides two complete versions of the Mass - one from the perspective of the altar boy and one from the perspective of the priest. Also, this video shows the sacristan setting up the vestments in the traditional manner, as well as the vesting of the priest with the prayers from the 1962 Missale Romanum.

This DVD also features wonderful choral and organ music, demonstrating the approved way of ornamenting the Low Mass with Sacred Music. Among the music included is:

Ave Verum, Francis Poulenc (1899 - 1963)
Duo Seraphim, Richard Dering (c. 1580 -1630)
Cantate Domino, Heinrich Schütz (1585 - 1672)
Preludium in C-dur, BWV 545, Johann Sebastian Bach (1685-1750)

An added feature of this DVD is the multiple menu options (see list below), enabling the viewer to skip to just about any part of the Mass.

A feature of this DVD not seen anywhere else is a Slide show of the various scenes of the Mass. For each of the Menu options listed below, the viewer can either watch a sequence of carefully made photos or a short video clip of that scene.

The Canons Regular of St. John Cantius was founded in 1998 by Reverend C. Frank Phillips, C.R., with the blessing of Francis Cardinal George, Archbishop of Chicago, as a Roman Catholic religious community of men dedicated to the restoration of the sacred in the context of parish ministry. Its mission is to help Catholics rediscover a profound sense of the sacred through solemn liturgies, devotions, sacred art, sacred music, as well as instruction in Church heritage, catechetics, and Catholic culture. This mission is reflected in the community’s motto Instaurare Sacra - To Restore the Sacred. To learn more about the Canons Regular of Saint John Cantius, visit us on the web at:
